This privacy policy sets out how Mummy Sophie Yoga uses and protects any information that you give Mummy Sophie Yoga when you use our services.  

Mummy Sophie Yoga is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using our services, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

Mummy Sophie Yoga may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 25th May 2018.

what we collect

We may collect the following information:

  • name and surname

  • contact information, including email address and occasionally phone number, for example when you've contacted us on tithinia@hotmail.com or phoned or text 07445555663 to enquire about classes, on in the event of a class being cancelled.

  • following the corona virus outbreak this year, we will also be collecting name, telephone number and address for NHS Track&Trace. If you wish to opt out, please send an email to tithinia@hotmail.com

what we do with the information we gather

We require this information to contact you in the event of a class being cancelled (especially at short notice), to prompt you to return a book that has been borrowed for an extended period, to advise you of special one-off classes and workshops, and to remind you of classes that won't be running because of a family holiday or festival, e.g. Christmas.  

On a roughly monthly basis we may use your email address to contact you with our newsletter, with further information about up-coming classes, and articles relating to pregnancy and mothering that you may find interesting.

Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, we keep your email addresses on an email account at Hotmail.com protected by a very secure password.  Phone numbers are stored on a personal phone only, which is protected with a six-digit pin, and has remote wiping technology in the unlikely event of a theft.

do we use cookies?

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive.  Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

Mummy Sophie Yoga has disabled Cookie collection by Squarespace, this website's host, indefinitely, and does not use Cookies in any way as a business.

Mummy Sophie Yoga works closely with several third parties to provide business services, these are:

Squarespace - when you use our sigh-up form for our newsletter, or send an enquiry about classes through the website, Squarespace processes this data and sends it on to our Hotmail account.  You can see Squarespace's privacy policy here

Stable Yoga Kintbury - the different venues where I teach have their own data collection and storage policies. On behalf of Stable Yoga I collect medical data, email and phone details on a medical screen form.  This is for the studio, so teachers can teach students safely, being made aware of any medical or physical conditions that might affect students' practice, and for the students to confidentially disclose any sensitive information that they do not wish to discuss openly with the teacher in the class.  You can see Stable Yoga’s privacy policy here

Glofox - this is a booking software used my Stable Yoga to enable students to easily book and pay for classes.  They securely hold payment data, email, phone information for students coming to classes we teach at Stable Yoga, their privacy policy is available at

controlling your personal information

You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal information in the following ways:

  • whenever you are asked to fill in a form on the website, look for the box that you can click to indicate that you do not want the information to be used by anybody for direct marketing purposes

  • if you have previously agreed to us using your personal information for direct marketing purposes, you may change your mind at any time by emailing us at tithinia@hotmail.com or following the 'unsubscribe' links at the bottom of each newsletter

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties, ever. You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998.  If you would like a copy of the information held on you please write to Sophie Martin, 3 Priory Road, Hungerford, RG17 0AG.
